Banstead Athletic 2 Ash United 0
CCL First Division
This was a game where we knew we had tied up the championship and promotion the week before. We still wanted to win this one as all matches. You can see that by the final table for us that we had
P 34 W 25 D 6 L 3 F 117 A 34 PTS 81 GD 83.
We had chances to score more than the two we managed and to be honest Ash United played their part and gave us a good game and had chances of their own.
It is a marvellous feeling after all the years of disappointment that we have now been promoted to the Premier Division where James Cameron and Rod Davis his assistant will not just there to make up the numbers.
For the record Leyton Regan score our first on fifteen minutes and Billy Frost got our second on sixty one minutes.
South Park Reserves 0 Banstead Athletic 2
CCL First Division
A fantastic achievement for this club under the management team of James Cameron and Rod Davis. With goals from leading Division One goalscorer Martin Smith now with 40 goals to his name and a super goal by Owolabi Tunde the A's saw off their opposition who had their own chances but didn't convert any of them. The pitch played well and there was a sizeable crowd to watch these two teams.
With Redhill not playing until Wednesday it was up to the A's to put this championship to bed once and for all, and they did just that.
The lads have done so well this season seeing off their opposition and cementing their place at the top of the league.
Banstead Athletic1 Frimley Green 1
CCL First Division
This was another game where we should have scored a hatful of goals. Credit must go to Frimley Green for being such a tough nut to crack. We managed the one goal scored by Leyton Regan in the fifty third minute to give us the one point we needed as our visitors squared the match from a corner when Scott Sanders had a free header which he buried.
We had the majority of chances, ones that went over the bar, ones that were hacked away. The ball as in the previous two matches just would not go in.
We are now almost certain of top spot, we just need one point from our last two matches. Redhill lost to Sheerwater today and if they win their remaining games can only equal our points total if we lose our last two matches. We have a superior goal difference which will be difficult to make up.
Banstead Athletic 0 Worcester Park 0
CCL First Division
This was a disappointing match as the A's suffered another 0-0 scoreline. Both teams had made changes to their line-ups after Banstead Athletic had thrashed them 5-0 a few weeks ago.
We had enough chances to have secured the three points but the ball just didn't go into the net. With Worcester Park down to ten men we still couldn't get past them.
Banstead Athletic 0 Redhill 0
CCL First Division
A point was enough this afternoon to safeguard our top two finish.
Redhill really were desparate for the three points to close the ten point gap between us. We had control of the game and knew what we had to do. We did go close when Martin Smith was flagged offside, it was a close call by the assistant referee as Smith was about to collect the ball and run on with it and probably score.
Redhill came close as well clattering the crossbar with an effort. We held firm though and were pleased to get the point.
Worcester Park FC 0 Banstead Athletic 5
CCL First Division
The damage was done in the space of twenty eight minutes of the first half.
Worcester Park didn't know what had hit them. Everytime Banstead Athletic went forward it looked like they were going to score. They were clinical in their finishing and put them to the sword with goals from a wonderful volley by Tayler Maddock that rifled into the net from twenty yards out that started the avalanche. Their second was scored by AJ Morrison after a long ball from Tom Drinkwater landed at Martin Smith's boots he wiggled and crossed it. It came off the keeper and AJ Morrison was there to poke it in. The third came from a Billy Frost corner, the ball came off the crossbar and Tom Drinkwater headed it in. Billy Frost hit their fourth after some neat build up play. Martin Smith managed to get his thirty nineth of the season and Banstead's fifth from a Tayler Maddock knock down which he finished well.
AC London 2 Banstead Athletic 0
RPM Records Division One Challenge Cup 1st round
Although disappointing to go out of a cup competition it will
certainly help with league fixtures.
We were not helped by the delay in the competition in the first place when we should have played this first round match in September of last year and then the postponement for different reasons up until the match was played last night.
We now concentrate and put all our efforts into our next league fixture this Saturday 25th March 2017 against
Worcester Park FC.
Banstead Athletic 3 Cove 2
CCL First Division
Not a classic match but we have to grind out these results.
AJ Morrison was on the score sheet with a header to put us ahead
in the nineth minute. Owolabi Tunde was on hand to put in a brilliant tackle to stop our visitors scoring six minutes later. In the twenty nineth minute Martin Smith put in a lovely cross into the area Leyton Regan tried to get to it but his opponent managed to get his head to it and scored an own goal. Just after that Regan had a effort that he placed just wide. A gifted back pass by us was pounced on by Cove and converted making the score 2-1 at halftime.
Ashley Thompson was adamant he wasn't going to give up the ball and pushed into Leyton Regan's path, he placed the ball wide of their keeper to make it 3-1.
Substitutions were made and we had to hang on a bit with Cove giving it one last push to try and get something out of the match.
They did get another goal which made it a bit nervy for all the A's but even with five minutes extra of injury time we managed to hold on and win in the end.
Met Police Res 2 Banstead Athletic 3
SURREY PREMIER CUP
A cracking cup tie and a great result for the A's
A superb performance by the A’s in the first half against a well drilled Police team. In the second they appeared to switch off with a three goal cushion and soon had to battle for the last fifteen minutes to maintain their one goal advantage.
Rob Hill fired them in front from the penalty spot and ten minutes later the A’s were two nil up through Cameron Goff who nearly took the net off with his shot from all of twenty five yards out. Tayler Maddock tapped his effort in after some neat work by the improving Leyton Regan.
They held on though and take on Worcester Park in the final at Sutton United FC on Friday 28th April 2017.
Banstead Athletic 3 Cove 2 CCL First Division
Off the back of a great night for our club this was a game which saw a
few players that were suffering with playing two matches in three days.
We hung on though and got the all important three points.
With Chessington & Hook Utd unable to catch us it's a certainty we will
finish in the top two come the end of the season.
Met. Police Res. 2 Banstead Athletic 3 Surrey Premier Cup (Semi-Final)
3-0 up at halftime, it should have been all over bar another couple of goals,
but our hosts came back and it was close in the end.
Goals from Robert Hill (penalty), Cameron Goff a twenty five yard screamer
and Tayler Maddock always a threat with a tap in.
Banstead Athletic 4 South Park Res 1 CCL First Division
Another cracking match with two more goals for Martin Smith,
one for Joe Hill and one for sub Leyton Regan.
Staines Lammas 1 Banstead Athletic 2 CCL First Division
Another goal from Billy Frost and one from AJ Morrison kept up the A's incredable
season and saw the top 100 goals.
Banstead Athletic 4 Dorking 0 CCL First Division
Two goals for Billy Frost and one each for Martin Smith and Tayler Maddock saw the A's
continue to dominate the league and stay in first place.
Banstead Athletic 1 Chessington & Hook United 1 CCL First Division
Both goals came in injury time at the end of the match. One a penalty and the
other a lack of concentration on our part.
Farleigh Rovers 2 Banstead Athletic 11 CCL First Division
In this match we tore into the home side with no mercy. Three different players got hat tricks,
Tayler Maddock got one and Rob Hill scored the other.
Staines Lammas 2 Banstead Athletic 4 Surrey Premier Cup (played at Merland Rise)
This match was switched from Staines Lammas's ground as we have floodlights.
Martin Smith got two of the goals, Ben Drewett scored an absolute screamer.
Our fourth was an own goal.
Banstead Athletic 4 Eversley & California 1 CCL First Division
In this match AJ Morrison got two of the four goals with well taken efforts. Danny Penfold on his debut got a super goal and Billy Frost always a solid pl;ayer got our fourth.
Banstead Athletic 2 Balham 1 CCL First Division
This was a close contest betwween two very good sides in this division. AJ Morrison scored with ten minutes gone.
Robert Hill secured the points with a super strike with a quarter of the match to go.
AC London 1 Banstead Athletic 1 CCL First Division
This was a bity match spoiled by the referee with too many stop and starts to a match that should have flowed.
In the end it was 1-1 but had Banstead Athletic taken their early chances within the first ten minutes they could and should have been 2-0 up.
Banstead Athletic 5 Sheerwater 0 CCL First Division
Billy Frost opened the scoring on 27 minutes, Leyton added another on thirty nine and just before halftime Martin Smith hit his thirtieth goal this season. Goals in the second half came from Smith his thirty first. Leyton made it 5-0 just on full time.
Cobham 1 Banstead Athletic 7 CCL First Division
We were two nil up by halftime with goals from Leyton Regan and Martin Smith. Second half we carried on where we had left off. Smith got another to make it 3-0, Cobham got one back on fifty one minutes. We then powered on and Smith scored another from the penalty spot. Smith then added another with a cheeky shot that went straight in from a tight angle. Nathan got one to make it 6-1 and then Leyton got his second to make it 7-1.
Bagshot 0 Banstead Athletic 4 CCL First Division
A match that saw us do the double over this side and how easy it was.
Martin Smith got two cracking goals along with Lewis Jackson who smashed a bullet of a shot passed their keeper and Nathan Oliver who also scored a great goal.
Bagshot had no answer to the onslaught we threw at them.
Banstead Athletic 5 Old Wilsonians 2 Surrey Premier Cup
A cracking match with both sides eventually doing well. The visitors took the lead after just twelve minutes
and extended it on fourteen. We clawed our way back just before halftime with a super goal from Martin Smith.
Tayler Maddock then followed up with his goal on fifty five minutes. Rob Hill scored. Smith scored again and to top it all Billy Frost completed the scoring.
Frimley Green 0 Banstead Athletic 2 CCL First Division
This wasn't an easy game as Green fought their corner well and scared us with a few good chances.
Joe Hill was on the score sheet again and also Nathan Oliver.
Banstead Athletic 10 Epsom Athletic 1 CCL First Division
This was a very one sided match. Martin Smith grabbed five goals Rob Hill and Joe Hill
both scored goals (1 for Rob and 2 for Joe). Sonny Ayres came on as a sub and scored one as well.
Billy Frost completed the rout.
Banstead Athletic 4 Westfield 4 Cherry Red Records Premier Challenge Cup

A first class display from the lads. Lewis Jackson, Tayler Maddock (2) and
Martin Smith got the all important three points.
Banstead Athletic 1 Crowborough Athletic 3 FA Vase 1st round proper
Best side we have played this season. They were from step five and it showed. We did give it a good go.
Our goal came from AJ Morrison.
Dorking 3 Banstead Athletic 4 Surrey Premier Cup
In a remarkable match which was a cracker. We scored first then they scored three in seven first half minutes. Second half we came back and broke their hearts with a last gasp goal on ninety minutes.
Goals from Joe Hill, Lewis Jackson (2) and Billy Frost.
Redhill 1 Banstead Athletic 0 CCL First Division
The hosts in this one were spraying the ball everywhere except on target in the first half.
Then a worldy of a goal from them hit the underside of the bar and went in. Nothing we did
which wasn't much could get us a draw or even a very unlikely win.
Dorking 1 Banstead Athletic 2 CCL First Division
In this one the goals came late theirs on eighty five minutes and both of ours in the six minutes
of injury time at the end of the match. Goals from Martin Smith and Billy Frost.
Balham 3 Banstead Athletic CCL First Division

Banstead Athletic 1 Cobham 2 CCL First Division
This was a game we should have won comfortably. Unfortunately they had different ideas

Chessington & Hook Utd 4 Banstead Athletic CCL First Division
This was one of those games you have in a season where you just don't do anything constructive in a match.
For the record Martin Smith scored our only goal from the spot.
Ash United 1 Banstead Athletic 7 CCL First Division
Seventh heaven for us away with goals from James King, Martin Smith (4) Lewis Jackson got two
in a one sided game.
Banstead Athletic 3 AC London 3 CCL First Division
A late late goal from our visitors sealed a draw which looked unlikely after AJ Morrison,
Martin Smith and Sonny Ayres had given us three goals.

A cracking match with lots of goals...Joel Atkin got his first for the club in a league game.
Nathan Oliver got two, Martin Smith also got two and Sonny Ayres got one.

Banstead Athletic 2 Bagshot 0 CCL
We started off well today with a 2-0 win over a new team to join our League.
Bagshot did cause us a few headaches during the afternoon, but we managed to overcome them and put our first three points on the board.Tayler Maddock scored our opener and Billy Frost scored a scorcher from all of thirty five yards out. He saw their keeper off his line and lobbed him to double our lead. It stayed like that until halftime. We could and definately should have scored a few more in the second half. Season 2015-2016
Deal Town 0 Banstead Athletic 1 Extra Preliminary round FA Cup
A game we really enjoyed playing. We went to the coast in a coach, chilled out on the beach. Warmed up well and came out and scored the goal through Sean Bradley.
